How much of a difference will adding 4gb of RAM and a Solid State Drive to an ageing 2009 White Apple MacBook make?
I have done just the thing. I have taken my MacBook, added 4gb of 800MHz DDR2 RAM and a Kingston 120gb SSD to see how much difference there was in speed.
I have compared the boot times, the loading times for Safari, iTunes, iPhoto, iMovie and Adobe Photoshop CS6 and the shut down times.
The idea behind this was to see if i could get this fast enough not to need to buy a whole new mac. I will now not be buying a new mac as this thing now flies!
