Sandy Lerner is the cofounder of Cisco Systems and was part of the team that developed the first commercial router. She established The Centre for the Study of Early English Women's Writing, 1600--1830, which houses a collection of rare books and hosts educational programs in conjunction with University of Southampton.
On Wednesday, April 18, 2012, fifteen extraordinary women who are first in their fields were honored with Sackler Center First Awards. The event commemorated the fifth anniversary of the Elizabeth A. Sackler Center for Feminist Art, the first center within an art museum to be devoted to the exhibition and study of feminist art. The event was presented by Elizabeth A.
