A dynamic 34.5-acre/13.9-hectare multi-use development in Istanbul, Turkey, the Mall of Istanbul combines vibrant contemporary energy with inspired design and mixed-use flair. The 3.8-million-square-foot project features distinctive retail, residential and office components, a high-rise hotel and a 15-screen cinema, all focused around a spectacular central entertainment component. Four adjacent residential towers stand atop landscaped podiums, which connect to the green roof of the mall proper via a series of pedestrian skybridges.
Located 14 miles/23 kilometers west of the center of Istanbul in the Ikitelli district, the Mall of Istanbul presents spectacular exterior graphics and signage and a breathtaking panorama of its signature curvilinear forms and soaring towers. Istiklar Street, a contemporary interpretation of one of Istanbul's historic streets, is a pedestrian trolley-serviced tree-lined street lined with shops and cafes that curves and climbs up 19 feet/six meters around the east side of the mall, connecting the main arrivals plaza to the top level's dining and entertainment features. Aesthetically and architecturally, the Mall is inspired by the layers of culture, design, history, symbols and materials that have evolved over the centuries in this unique Eurasian metropolis.
Three themed courts surround the heart of the project. A large central, vertically integrated energized entertainment environment that is an experientially and visually arresting connective hub, with spectacular signage, dramatic lighting and bold, architectural components is forecast to become the family entertainment destination for this city of over 15 million.
