Every year in Washington, DC, the Blossom Kite Festival is held as part of the city's famous Cherry Blossom Festival. This year, the Blossom Kite Festival came on the first really nice day in weeks, and it was a pretty good day to fly a kite. The setting on the National Mall is picture perfect, and people had a great time. There is lots more to the Blossom Kite Festival than is shown in this video, but this gives you a quick taste of the event.
If you're wondering about the scaffolding on the Washington Monument, that is for repairs to the structure from damage that occurred in the Sept. 2011 earthquake. At the time this video was shot, the Washington Monument was closed and fenced off to the public.
I shot this with a Panasonic Lumix DMC-GH3 digital camera and edited it with Corel VideoStudio Pro x6 software.
