I finally got the 930kV motor I ordered (X-UAV 3536 KV930) and installed it last night, because I knew the wind conditions would be good this morning. And they were, Hardly a breeze! Sure beats the 20 mph winds we've been having the last few mornings.
The new motor weighs 115g, compared to the stock motor that weighs 123g. Not much difference, but enough for the plane to need a couple ticks of down trim.
I remembered last night that I never did a amp test with a full battery using the stock motor. I only ran a test once, with a battery at storage charge. It showed just under 15A full throttle. I did a storage charge test with the new motor last night, and it peaked at 20A. This morning I ran a test with a fully charged battery, and it peaked at 25A. So it's probably safe to say that the stock motor/prop on 3S will draw about 20A peak.
I still have a 10x7 prop coming (the one that was on the Eleven Hobby T-28), and I ordered one that's listed as 11x8 for the Eleven Hobby T-28 as well, although I'm not sure if that's a typo or not. We'll find out when it arrives.
I disconnected the air brake since last time. I had it hooked up with the flaps, and it tended to make the plane fall out of the sky on landing. I also added a bit more flaps on the full flaps setting. It now lands great! Power off glide is just about perfect for landing with full flaps.
