40 Years of learning! Building and flying Remote Control Airplanes was the most enjoyable hobby for me ! Lost count on how many airplanes I have all those years its better this way ....... at one point not so long ago I have 35 flyable airplanes in my small shop. 5 years ago I downsize to six Airplanes to leave room for my WW2 vehicles.
I don't consider myself as a great flyer but more like a Sunday Flyer.
1978 in Chapleau!!!! that's were its all begin in a small softwood community in the middle of nowhere surrounding by 200 kilometer of forest we use a MNR strip 30 miles in the bush they were not to many flying field for model airplanes in Chapleau , never thought about this before I both my first airplane? took me 6 month to build the first kit almost scratch build.
At that point I did not know much about how a planes work? The life expectations of this airplane was very short so then I start to read about airplanes to learn the basic" no internet then" after many attempt 2 years latter I succeed my first flight it was a joy very rough landing but the planes came back and survive the rest is history.I learn one thing is the planes fly good its a good airplane but is the planes crash its a bad pilot it is funny.... but you know to my knowledge 90% of crash are related a way another to the pilot some time is building issues the stress of flight a new airplane balance issues and the list goes on.In Chapleau at the end we were 10 guys flying together and almost all of then were trained by me for a small town of 3,000 peoples like Chapleau it was a very good number. We really had a great time together I will never forget those guys 26 years later I move to Timmins New club more rules better Safety great place to trained my older Son and my youngest Daughter and I also manage to trained about 10 more Guys I Made some very good friend here to. Two good friend died recently one was member of the club already the other one I train many years ago.........This days I just wan to enjoy casual flying once a while the Timmins Golden Hawk have a beautiful field I'm lucky enough to be part of it. I apologize for some video who are pretty old the quality not so good this why I mix them with newer videos some were film with VHS, No I phone in those days?
Hope this was not to boring to watch but it is full of memories for me. Thank you to all my friends!
