Window shopping in Venice, the kind of exotica which would appeal to aspiring celebrities: beautiful delicacies, objets d'art, Murano glass, stunning masks, fine needlework and even some shoes made out of Coke bottles.... But it's not cheap there - 29 Euros for two coffees and a cake in a cafe beside the Rialto Bridge. Somehow, Venice manages to be about the only place in the world which is stiff with tourists, yet still retains its own unique charm and character, backed up by authentic architecture, art and craftwork from the Middle Ages and Renaissance. Most people go there for a little culture and/or romance so everyone behaves themselves.
