Ottawa-raised UWaterloo alum Chamath Palihapitiya is the founder of Social+Capital Partnerships, a venture capital fund based in Palo Alto, California. Palihapitiya spent time at AOL as Vice-President and General Manager of AIM and ICQ at AOL, as a principal at The Mayfield Fund and, finally in 2007, at Facebook, where he took on the role on Vice-President of User Growth, Mobile and International, helping bring the company to unprecedented levels of growth and innovation.
