An inspirational video. The dry stunning ochre deserts of the Australian Outback stretch timelessly across the horizons. Rarely rivers from Northern Territory, Queensland, New South Wales and South Australia flow towards its center and fill Lake Eyre, one of the largest inland lakes in the world. Lake Eyre, lowest point in Australia, 15m below sea level, is the largest lake in Australia and 5th largest terminal lake in the world. The lake has filled only 3 times in last 150 years. It is 144km long and 65km wide. Its catchment is more than 1 million square km, 15% of Australia. Lake Eyre Basin is 5 times larger than England, Scotland and Wales, 4 times larger than Germany. Watch the wetlands, grasslands and deserts come alive. Best way to view the lake is by air. Starting points is William Creek. The pilot was Brendan Kosmer and the photographers were Trudy Kosmer, Christine Johns and Ian Rolfe.
