Dew was born at Cheetah Experience and one of the four cubs I met the 1st time I ever volunteered. Dew, Eden, Faith, and Gabriel are the cheetahs I know best. I never spent much time with Dew but had some quality time instead. She may have remembered our time together and remember some of our 'imprinting' time. Not sure. I've read where Dew has trouble opening up to people but not with me, so not sure.
Anyway, the open yard where this was filmed is inside the main compound farm. A house sits in the middle and is completely fenced in with other cheetah enclosure surrounding it. Some of the cheetahs get to visit and explore this area before the tourists show up in the mornings. Once tours start, they are led back into their enclosures.
I thought it was cute how Dew used some of her spare enrichment time to visit me rather than explore her rare new world. Just shows how friendly, affectionate, and interactive some cheetahs can be. I would have thought it a waste of time spending it on me, but glad she did. I hadn't touched Dew or encountered her for over two years. She was always inside a locked enclosure.
