I made a small review and test recording wiht the Amkov 5000S , the successor of the 5000.
It looks quite similar to other Action Cam products. Nevertheless it's at good quality for the price.
The AMK 5000S is more advanced successor of AMK5000 and offers a 20MP image sensor and als TV out which is a feature people need e.g. to do recordings with quadcoptors. But to be clear it looks more like a firmware improvement than a hardware change compared to the predecessor.
The Camera supports FHD 1080p video resolution with 30 fps, HD 720p 30 fps, HD 720p 60 fps at ISO 100-1600 (most others have 100-400 ISO
range) and has also a feature to do timelaps videos. The 5000S has no display at the back, but a small one on the front like the GoPro models have, which function is to enable switching through different modes and resolutions quicker. Besides the switching function you can see battery life and if a microSD card is attached.
But in this case I prefer to handle the Camera via the mobile app which works quite good and is easy to handle. With the app different settings can be adjusted only in the app and a live view is available while recording. The app gives you some extra capabilities. You can also browse through your recordings and download them to your smartphone or tablet.
Amkov 5000s produces good movies and decent photos for its price.
In summary I can state the software is pretty stable and the camera boots up fast. The camera is easy to navigate. Videos are decent and images are taken quick and quite sharp for this price category. I could not encountered any bugs while testing it out.
Manual is above the average for Chinese action camera, it's provided in English, Spanish, France and German, at least for the Europe market.
