Travelling on the Amtrak ,round trip from New York to Montreal, train #69, Adirondack line. It's long trip(381 miles,11 hours),but the scenery is fantastic, specially in winter wonderland. The Adirondack train is one of the most scenic routes in North America.
Seats are very comfortable, like in 1st class of airlines, legroom is spacy, you can walk to cafe car,get fresh air on the stops.if you have to get to Montreal quickly, take a plane, but if you have a time, enjoy your ride. Not really fast, but around $130 for round trip, you can't beat the price. Airtickets are around $400 & up.In the case of snow storm, generally Amtrak is much better, than airlines & buses. Thanks for that, Amtrack!!!.The Train runs along to Hudson, so seat on left side of the car to Albany, then switch to the right side. It's not the World the Best Train, but is pretty nice.I enjoyed it,specially picturesque scene. Not the Great part is,train stay almost 2 hours on boder,to check passport...it would be nice,if Amtrak works with the Govt's of U.S. & Canada to eliminate the 2 hours border stop.Thanks.
