My comparison of the Assan GA-250 gyro with its primary competitor (price wise) the Hobbyking HK-401b. It was too windy for a comparison at the flying field but gentle backyard flying was revealing. The GA-250's strength is its heading hold performance and it's weakness its its precision and fluidity of movement. The HK-401b has good heading hold which is not quite at GA-250's standard, but, the smoothness and precision of movement more than compensates. In my opinion the HK-401b wins by some margin. It's also worth noting that the GA-250 is fussy about the speed of the tail servo, the mechanical set-up and the radio settings and can not be recommended for the novice. However, if HH performance is your priority check out the GA-250.
FWIW I have flown the HK-401b on both heli's and the result stands. The HK-401b feels much smoother to fly with and is less fussy about set-up.
