Alrighty Guys and Gals!!! This is the third Steez frame build I've done and this one was specifically built to test the new Brother Hobby Avenger 2507-2450kv motors. Everything is exactly the same as the last 2 Steez build outs except for the power units. To date, I have never flown any miniquad with motors this large and I was extremely curious about the difference. First off, they are visually much larger than conventional offerings on the market and the weight of these bad boys definitely reflects the larger dimensions. In hand, you really can notice the almost 40 gram heft of these guys. Build quality is very nice and aesthetically, the black and red coloring looks fantastic. Also, the white 18 gauge wires look beefy and definitely differentiate them visually from everything else currently in the marketplace. The question for me boiled down to...Is the additional size and weight worth it? The answer is not so simple. These motors definitely push hard and can swing any 5 or 6 inch prop you can throw at them. With my flying style, I think they are a bit overkill. While running my normal prop of choice (5x4.8x3V1S), they performed great, but its when I threw on the pitchier and heavier props, these motors came into their own. In hindsight, I feel like I should have put them on a 6 inch build...in my opinion, they are too much for any 5 inch prop. Bottom line, if you want the biggest motor out there, the Avengers have you covered.
