These items aren’t going in just yet (except Incision Transmission gears) as I want a few drivers to give their impressions on it in the stock-ish configuration. Trans gears were installed since the unit was already out of the truck for inspection. Also, cleaned and added marine grease to front and rear axles as per my standard operation. Aside from the 10.2 changes, this is a very bare bones rig reminiscent of the original Trail Honcho. That said, there is little to complain about with a Ready To Run, lightweight, feature filled, and competitively priced truck. With all the additions, lipo compatibility, and factory installed lights, Little is left to be desired for a first time trail driver.
For more experienced drivers, this truck stands as a builders project. My ultimate goal is to update The Scout; the oldest rig in our stable. As a scale trail truck, it doesn’t run big power and high wheel speeds. But being weighty on small tires, having a smaller axle profile and more scale appearance are welcomed changes.
