Baby Kittens
How cute and small does that big round eyes, furry kitten look. Barely able to walk but the gush of energy in the kitten not to come in hand and just to run and explore the world is just adorable. Cats include a wide range of animals, many kittens even fall in the category of cats but cats do not necessarily mean a kitten. A kitten is domesticated cat, where we have cats like the lion, the tiger and the jaguar with fiery eyes and amazingly sharp teeth, we have these small cute creatures (not for so long!) for us to feed and take care while they grow up to become big huge still domesticated cats but independent enough to go explore the world and we having the assurance that your kitten, now cat will always come back home.
Now coming back to kittens, you may find them on a road; some easily get separated from their parents. You will usually find a strange yet cute "meow" asking you to rescue it, while she stays in a small dingy corner feeling safe but hungry since its mommy hasn't come back. Now what we usually do, when the mother goes to feed herself while he kitten is asleep, if the kitten wakes up she starts whining and we presume that the little kitty has been abandoned by her mom and take her home. The first and foremost thing to do is to wait and not pick up the kitten till its mom is back. Come back the next day to see if the kitten is still there. If it is and still abandoned then you get her friendly and acquainted with you. It should get really comfortable with you, get her some milk to feed her. She definitely must be hungry. Now to feed her what you need is-
1.) A packet of milk.
2.) Baby nursing bottles with nipples.
3.) Pedialyte
4.) Plain yoghurt
5.) Small towels.
Now it's as simple as feeding a baby! Okay, many of us aren't parents yet so for the teens, and the not yet parents people, you sterilize (heating at a high temperature to eradicate the microorganisms) the nipples and the bottles in water bath for 5 minutes. Let it cool for some time.
Place a towel on which you will keep the kitten and another to wipe your hands with. Fill the bottle with a pinch of yoghurt and the milk replacement (can be either powder or liquid form). The yoghurt helps to enhance the digestion.
Be very careful of how you position your kitty, the head should not be upright, or raised since it can cause the milk to go in the windpipe and be fatal for the kitten.
As the kitten grows older you can start feeding him kitten tanned food, make gruel from warm milk. A young kitten needs to stay warm so make sure it is kept in a warm and cozy place.
I'm sure you will succeed in making you kitty a perfect healthy cat. Till then wish you luck!
