Scenes from Burlington, NC from the first ever Barnes & Noble Mini Maker Faire.
On November 6th, 7th, and 8th 2015 Barnes & Noble Booksellers partnered with Maker Media (Creators of Maker Faire) to hold an in-store Mini Maker Faire in all 650+ of their stores nation wide! This event included "Make and Collaborate" hands-on sessions with cool maker gear, "Make Workspace" sessions with demonstrations of 3D printers, Drones, and Robotics, and "Meet the Maker" sessions with a chance to talk with local area Makers and learn about their projects.
For this event the Alamance Makers Guild (producers of the Burlington Mini Maker Faire) partnered with our local Barnes & Noble of Burlington to help provide volunteers and to fill 30 individual hour-long "Meet the Maker" slots during the 20 hour long event (Possibly more than any other B&N Nation Wide!)
It was exciting to see B&N spreading the word about the Maker Movement to even more people Nation Wide and the Alamance Makers Guild / Burlington Mini Maker Faire were happy to participate locally here in Burlington NC.
