Since BF1 is right around the corner I thought I'd bring up something that I still don't understand. Why did they add Battle Pickups in BF4? To me they don't add value to the game and the idea of Battle Pickups isn't a fundamental part of Battlefield. They seem like things tacked on after the fact to cover up missing elements usually found in Battlefield games or maybe they were just meant to be a simple distraction.
Sure there are other titles in the FPS genre that have their games designed around the idea of Battle Pickups but that generally wasn't the case with old or new Battlefield prior to BF4. And now we'll have them again in BF1 only instead of just weapons they are now Elite Classes you pickup to obtain a unique weapon with added health/armor. I would think if a Battlefield game is done right there would be no need to add something like that to the game. Or is this a newer generation target audience thing and not meant for players who have played the previous Battlefield games?
Yes the title is sarcastic.
