Water is supposed flow through a culvert gate, under a local road, into the wetlands on the other side of the road - to prevent potential road flooding during major water events (rain, melting snow). However, beavers had a different idea. They want to block the water flow, to raise water levels, so they can over winter in the pond. So, it is a battle of wits. Here my wife and I are removing the beaver debris before the beaver dam freezes in place. The beavers will work twice as hard to dam it back up again -- and we will be back.
