I captured all the footage from the HD version of the game, as it is, by far, the best version. It allows the game to be played as it was meant to be played. Much of the original textures were obscured on the PS2 for performance reasons, and the frame rate was heavily hampered. The HD, 30fps version allows the game to breathe, like never before. It is a "must own" for PS3 users.
One thing I didn't mention in this review is that the game offers a decent amount of re-playability and content. subsequent playthroughs allow the player to keep their health and stamina and build upon it. after about 5 playthroughs, the player can climb the tower itself and find a secret garden. also, throughout the world, there are silfer tailed lizards and fruits, that increase your max stamina and health, respectively. There are also time trials, which allow the player to unlock various items, such as a sword that kills colossi in one stab and a cape that allows the player to not take fall damage.
fun fact: the game was originally pitched as an online co-op experience. pretty ambitious, to say the least. but im glad they didnt go for that. the tech wasn't there yet and it would have lacked the story and polish of the single player game.
