The quad you're seeing in this video hasn't been featured before... I have never been able to get it to fly well on BF 3.1.7. This is my backup beater quad that's made out of spare parts and cheap chinese clone stuff. I planned on using it for flying sketchy places or trying more risky tricks but I could never get it to fly well.
There's always been something about it that made it un-tuneable, at least with my level of experience tuning. I'm assuming there is some kind of electrical noise issue that needs addressed, or at least filtered out, before tuning would be effective. Because of that, and the fact that I have a nice and powerful chameleon build, this quad has sat on my bench for the last 3 months doing nothing; since I've been unmotivated to mess around with it.... until BF 3.2 arrived and my chameleon is down for repairs. ;)
I've heard about the glory of BF 3.2 and all the ways in which it will make you rich and famous and be able to put your kids through college and give them a decent career /s... so I couldn't resist the temptation to try it out!!! Seeing as how I smashed my chameleon to bits last week, I figured I would dust off the old backup and see if I could get it running on BF 3.2....
The update to BF 3.2 RC3 went flawlessly!!!
When I reloaded my configuration from BF 3.1.7, I left all of the default filters on and enabled dynamic notch filters and took it for a few test/tune flights. It flew way better immediately! Although the motors were piping hot (this is nothing new, they were piping hot before, but it still flew like crap lol).
During the initial maiden I noticed what sounded like D gain oscillations, indicating my D's were way too high. Previously, it didn't 'fly well' unless my P's were in the 60's and my D's in the 40's with all notches still on. With BF 3.2, I was able to lower the D's to the mid-20's and I was also able to turn off both of the notch filters. Now I'm only using Dynamic Notch Filtering and my motors come down cooler than ever before and it flies amazingly well now.
I imagine there's still some fine tuning left to do, but as you can see, it's now a viable option for capturing footage.
Look forward to seeing more exciting footage of more interesting places! The point of this quad was that I wanted a quad that I could fly more risky places and not worry so much about damaging it or breaking something, so I look forward to having the confidence to make more exciting videos :D

Hope you guys enjoy the flight!
