I designed and built this bike rack from wood (2 x 12's) with steel brackets for support. The two wood pieces are connected by a miter joint with biscuits. I was worried the miter joint wouldn't be strong enough in the long term so I added some steel brackets. The brackets are inlayed to be flush with the wood, cause it looks better that way.
