This was recorded at Bruce's didgeridoo crafting workshop that he hosted in October 2014 at his Bend of Islands base, a bush sanctuary north-east of Melbourne where Bruce with wife Lynne had built their spectacular mud-brick home nestled among the eucalypts.
In a career spanning 22 years as a specialist didgeridoo craftsman, Bruce brought to life over two thousand instruments that he had lovingly shaped by hand - no easy feat considering the substantial thought and effort Bruce put into each individual piece and his mantra of allowing a tree's natural lines to reveal itself in the finished product.
Bruce's instruments brought joy to many across the globe. His easy, relaxed nature was a trademark character trait, his smile an instant ice breaker. Warm, friendly and always ready to consider alternative points of views, Bruce Rogers lived quite an extraordinary life and in doing so became quite an extraordinary person.
His untimely departure from this earthly realm seems inconceivable, his loss deeply felt by all who knew him.
Gone but not forgotten, Bruce Rogers 1964-2016, may you Rest In Peace.
Tracks featured in this video include Amazon and Night Event from the 2004 album Keep Going by Tongue N Groove of which Bruce was a part.
