This is a build I put together for my step-brother who is currently on a AMD Phenom II X4 955 + GTX 660 system. This is gonna be a HUGE upgrade for him. The prices were good on most of the parts considering the major components were bought brand new, but the culprits of high prices are definitely the GPU and RAM. While these two components are terribly priced in the current market they were still bought in some form of a sale/discount. I looked to the used market and found nothing (people are wanting $180 for a GTX 970s in my area and the $130 or so for 16GB of used RAM). Either way, hope you guys enjoy the build sequence! If you're a person thats finds building in silence eerie, feel free to play whatever music of your choice in the background while watching :)
The target gaming performance for this build was 1080p at high to ultra settings depending on the title. Due to the 3GB VRAM, I wouldn't say this build is 1440p ready except for in lighter titles or if you're ok with fps below 60.
