3rd of 3 videos covering from start to finish the building of a completely decoupled room within a room in a garage. This video is of the finished product and includes explanations of how the acoustic treatments (sound absorbing panels and bass traps) were made as well as video of the sound levels inside of the room all the way to outside of my garage while I play.
I have to correct a couple of things I said while filming this video. First, the wood I used for the basstraps was 1" x 2" (not 1" x 1") and was not cut in 4 ft. lengths. They are 8' & 7' long. Secondly, the general design & ideas to use shoestrings to keep the traps in place came from Jason Barry, owner of JB Nautilus, who built the room. It was my idea to cut the traps in half length ways, screw them on to the 1" x 2"s, and velcro them to the wall. Sorry about the mis-statements: That's what happens when you put me in front of a camera without a script.
