The Canon XM2 camcorder was a professional mid-range PAL MiniDV camcorder that was sold from 2002 to 2009. It was offered with several different accessories and was purchased from somewhere around £3-5k. While not at well featured as other camcorders, it featured native 16:9 which was a huge selling point for the XM2, along with its ability to take photographs.
It features the 1/4 inch 3CCD image system which has 470,000 pixels per sensor with a dichroic prism filter.
The images taken to the SD card are 1488x1128 and are reasonably good quality.
