In bringing Rondo of Blood and its beloved sequel Symphony of the Night to PlayStation 4, Castlevania Requiem deserves praise. But Konami’s blatantly lazy approach to actually making its collection pop is certainly a head-scratcher. Sure: 2D Castlevania is almost always a good thing. But in a world where Konami’s rival Capcom is putting lots of love and attention into its retro collections, Castlevania Requiem ultimately feels inadequate.
