There is a lot of misinformation going around about the exemption for cell phone unlocking to the Digital Millenium copyright act. Some people are saying it's illegal to unlock ANY phone now, some people are saying it's illegal to sell a phone you unlocked before that January 26th, 2013, and some people are saying that you can no longer unlock any phone period. This video explains what the exemption really does say. If you purchased a phone before January 26th you can still legally unlock it as long as a few conditions are met. Either way this exemption is ridiculous, should be changed, and the first time it gets challenged in court it will in my opinion.
