As independent travelers, we like the freedom, flexibility and budget of doing things ourselves but when we found out from our hostel that we can get to Guilin to Yangshuo via a bamboo raft down the Li River, we knew we could never make that happen ourselves so we were all in! At $80 a piece, with no lunch... this tour promised to pick us up from our hostel at 8am (it was 2 hours late) and take us to the dock where we'd meander along the scenic karst mountains and 'escape' from the rush of the city and 'transport ourselves to a different time'
Go see the Li River, it was amazing and fun. But we always want to share with you the whole story of what it takes to get to such beautiful destinations sometimes.
