For a while, this was my favourite Chrono Cross song: "Shadow's End Forest", or "Forest of Cutting Shadows", composed originally by my dear, beloved Yasunori Mitsuda. This song already has a new age/world kind of feeling, but I used a lot of ethnic instruments to make it more so. The original, as well as my remix sound a lot like the work of Andreas Vollenweider (another of my favourite composers). Chrono Trigger had, arguably, one of the best soundtracks ever written, but I personally prefer the Chrono Cross OST. It might have just been the warmth of the acoustic guitar and all the vibrant, tropical sounds. The game has parts that seem Indian, Mediterranean, Polynesian and even South American. It is a very beautiful, colourful and complimentary blend of aesthetics. If you have not tried CC, I highly recommend it! :)
