Hello, citizens of the United States. We are Anonymous. Yet again, your rights and your so called privacy on the internet are in peril. CISPA, another terribly pronounced acronym of a bill is in the works of the government to strip the internet of its freedoms and abolish internet privacy.
CISPA, the Cyber Intelligence Sharing and Protection Act, will give the United States government the right to monitor private information in order to "protect" systems from exploitation. However, bills such as these are usually passed without much thought to the damage it could cause to the internet community as a whole, and in this case, the damage has the potential of being catostrophic.
Anonymous supports the protecting and monitoring of one's systems, but when such checks are performed by the government, on networks and systems they do not even own, it blurs our vision of democracy and brings forth the sight of socialism. The Constitution guarantees you the right to deny a search and seizure by anyone, however, CISPA bends the rules and does so by allowing the government to monitor information passed through your Internet Service Provider, with or without your consent.
Supporters claim the bill will only allow the government to use such information in the event of a Cyber-threat, but why is your information needed if you play no role in the so called threat? Therefore, the Anonymous collective and many other large internet groups have joined the cause to put this bill where it belongs. Out of mind.
