Al descubrir estos artefactos quedé sorprendido por la economía y el rendimiento comparados con otras cocinas a leña. Con algunos palitos o ramitas se puede cocinar por gran cantidad y por varias horas. Tras investigar muchos modelos, me lancé a fabricar artesanalmente uno que satisfaga mis requisitos. Quería que fuera fácil de transportar en el auto y segura al manipularla, ya que supera los 10 kilos de acero. Para eso tuve que eliminar puntas filosas y bordes cortantes que había observado en otras terminaciones de otros artesanos. También quería que fuera simple de usar y de armar/desarmar. Para eso ideé anclajes desmontables para las patas y los extensores de la hornalla, que al poderse desmontar reducen notablemente las formas incómodas y puntiagudas de las patas y hornalla a un simple tubo en L, con una manija de transporte fácil de asir y resistente al peso de la cocina cohete junto a los accesorios guardados en la tolva de leña.
Por último le di un acabado con pintura de alta temperatura.
Una vez terminada solo quedaba salir al campo a probarla, quedando muy satisfecho con los resultados.
Unos amigos y vecinos quedaron fascinados con la Cocina Cohete, así que les fabriqué clones a pedido.
