Here we actually do a complete change of the old trachy and tapes. The actual trachy was only changed every 10- 14 days depending on how it looked and if Luke had a cold etc.
To keep the area free from bacteria we always put new dressings and tapes on every day, sometimes Luke would need this doing 3 times a day if it got wet or dirty etc. The trachy was a 4.5mm Bivona. (The trachy is attached to a nippy ventilator on pressures of 12/6).
