Canadian Music Week is pleased to welcome concert promoter and touring legend, Michael Cohl, in a Celebrity Interview as part of CMW's Live Touring programming. The former Chairman of Live Nation and current founder of S2BN Entertainment - a diversified international family show and event entertainment company - Cohl is most famous for having overseen the tours and related ancillary businesses for more than 150 artists, including Frank Sinatra, Michael Jackson, The Rolling Stones, Barbra Streisand, Prince, Stevie Wonder, The Who, Pink Floyd, Crosby, Stills, Nash and Young and U2. He is credited with revolutionizing the concert business by engineering the "all rights" or 360° deals.
Concurrent to concert touring, Cohl has earned numerous film credits, including the Rolling Stones Imax movie, SHINE A LIGHT, filmed by Academy Award winning director Martin Scorsese and LIVE AT THE MAX, the first ever music Imax movie. He has also been involved with several theatrical events including the Toronto productions of ROCK OF AGES, THE LION KING and THE PRODUCERS, as well as Broadway's SPIDER-MAN: TURN OFF THE DARK and SPAMALOT, earning him a Tony Award. Additionally, Cohl has brought the award winning children's television program YO GABBA GABBA! from the small screen to the big stage with YO GABBA GABBA! LIVE!, the 2010 Billboard Touring Award winner for Creative Content.
