Currently, nearly 2,000 undergraduate students identify as a first-generation college student at Cornell. This dynamic panel will address the current environment for first-generation students, highlight the newly created First In Class program, and discuss how access to higher education—and a Cornell education—is truly a transformative life experience. Bringing together academic, student life, alumni, and expert opinions on why Cornell is out in front in admitting, developing, and graduating first-generation students, this program is not to be missed. Josh Steckel will be signing copies of his book near the registration area following the panel. Books have been graciously provided by Cornell Mosaic. This program is for everyone concerned about access to higher education and supporting first-generation college students.
