I'm showing the initial CNC cuts that turn a rough maple dowel into an accurately configured shaft blank that will end up 2 mm oversize. I take a series of 3 cuts that are sufficient to remove any warpage in the blank while minimizing deflection of the wood due to the heavy cutting pressures.
