After nearly 1 1/2 years, I have finally finished this project! This is a custom radio control transmitter for a WW2 Fletcher class destroyer made from a Lindberg 1:125 Blue Devit kit. The transmitter is run entirely by an Arduino UNO R3 and outputs PPM directly to a 2.4Ghz radio module hacked from a HobbyKing 6CH transmitter. The RGB led's are i2c controlled by a circuit I made on an Adafruit permaboard using DS1844 chips. The sound comes from a serially controlled TD830 MP3 module and the audio is pumped into an Adafruit TS2016D amplifier with i2c gain control and 3" 4Ohm speaker. The engine orders are read via analog ranges on analog pins, and the steering wheel is actually a rotary encoder. The engines are brushed geared motors from Pololu.com and the stuffing boxes and brass props are from Dumas. The universal joints came from an EBay seller in Hong Kong. The battery is a Turnigy 3S 25C 2200 mAh LiPo from HobbyKing and the two ESC's are MTroniks Marine Viper 10's.
