Using four LYONAEEC Foam Stunt Gliders and some salvaged electronics from an old ultra micro E-flite 4-Site stunt biplane, dad made a Diamond Formation R/C airplane. The right airplane has the right aileron. The left airplane has the left aileron. The aft airplane has the rudder and elevator. The forward airplane has the geared motor with prop. Power is supplied from a 150 mAh single cell lipo. Carbon fiber rods connect all four airplanes. Flying weight comes in at 38 grams (1.3 oz). By comparison the UMX Radian weighs in at around 43 grams (1.45 oz) ready to fly.
I'd say it did pretty good for a wild invention using four $1.99 gliders!
