Both have 6'4 inch full HD IPS displays.
Both support VolTE
Both Support USB OTG & come with Android Marsh mellow 6.0.1
Rear Primary camera performance is more of less alike ... Xiaomi's 16 mp camera supports Slow Motion while Lenovo's 13 mp dual camera setup does not.
Lenovo has bokeh effect with its dual rear camera and better selfie camera which the xiaomi does not.
Both support dual nano sim or a nano sim & sd card.
Both have fingerprint scanner.
Now, lets look at where Lenovo Phab 2 plus distinctively is better than Xiaomi Mi Max.
First, The Lenovo has three microphones for active noise cancellation thus giving you better mic quaility compared to the Xiaomi Max.
Second, The Lenovo has Stereo speakers while the Xiaomi does not.
Now, that you know the three reasons why the Lenovo Phab 2 Plus is better than Xiaomi Mi Max.
Let's look at the reasons where the Lenovo looses out to Xiaomi.
First, The Lenovo Phab 2 Plus has a considerable weak Processor Mediatek-8783 1.3 Ghz Octacore processor while the Xiaomi Max has the considerably faster 1.8 Snapdragon 650 hexacore processor..
Lenovo's Mali T-720 GPU is also weaker than the Xiaomi's Adreno 510 GPU.
Thus, Lenovo will not be able to handle gaming as well as the Xiaomi does.
Second, the Lenovo Phab 2 Plus has smaller non removable 4050 mAH battery compared to xiaomi's better 4850 mAH non-removable battery. Thus, Xiaomi also has advantage over Lenovo in the Battery segment.
Further, lenovo only supports bluetooth 4.0 whereas the xiaomi supports the higher better battery saving & better performing bluetooth 4.2
Third, Lenovo Phab 2 Plus is more bulky heavy at 218 grams while the xiaomi wins again with a weight if only 203 grams
Fourth, While both phone have 6'4 inch IPS display the Lenovo's Body to screen ratio is 73.74% which is not as good as xiaomi's 74.78%
Thus, the xiaomi looks and feels comparatively sleek.
Fifth, the Lenovo does not support Fast charging while the Xiaomi Supports Quick Charge 3.0
Sixth, Xiaomi has scratch proof gorilla glass 4 IPS display while the Lenovo does not.
Seventh, the infrared sensors is missing from Phab 2 while Mi Max has them.
In my review, i only considered significant point for comparison between both the phones
