A tutorial for easy screen printing at home.
Disclaimer: This is my first tutorial. Please be gentle. Either that, or give me plenty of constructive criticism.
Materials:
Something to print on (an article of clothing, some fabric, or a piece of paper)
Wax Paper
Paint (be sure to read the drying instructions)
Sponge brushes, or normal paint brushes
Template (A printed or drawn image)
Iron
Permanent marker
Newspaper (to cover your work area)
A piece of cardboard (stick it in the shirt to give you a hard surface to work on, and protect the inside from the paint)
Scissors
Masking tape
Dryer (if you are using specific screen printing paint or the iron works too)
Ironing board
A scrap piece of fabric to protect the iron
Tutorial:
Find a picture that you want to screen print. Print it or draw it on a piece of paper and check that it's the right size for your sweater. Trace your template onto the wax paper with the permanenet marker. Cut it out. Iron it onto your sweater. Use the template as a stencil to paint your sweater. Peel the template off, and follow the drying instructions depending on the paint you use. Enjoy.
