This is my opinion based on life experience and my own research. Always use YOUR BEST judgement when dealing with abusers or sociopaths and always seek the advice of a professional if you need too.
If you are being threatened or abused, contact the police.
Steps you can take to manage or address an abuser or sociopath in your life:
1. Build a support network. Talk to someone you trust and you know is supportive of you. Whether it's a family member, friend, or other person in your life and inform them about the abuser or the situation.
2. Contact a professional such as a counselor, social worker, youth care worker, or therapist to seek help dealing with the abuser. You can get a referral from your doctor, or if you are a student, there are options at your school. A hospital could also refer you to a counselor.
3. If you cannot confront or escape your abuser, make sure you take steps 1-3 if possible. Bide your time until you or a professional deems appropriate for you to escape or bring intervention. Always use YOUR BEST judgement when evaluating the situation to prevent escalation or further threat/danger to you or others.
Stay strong and I wish you the best of luck when dealing with a sociopath or abuser.
