In December of 2008 we bought a Dacor Oven. Exactly 2 years later we started experiencing problems with the oven switching to broil mode regardless of what temperature we set the oven to. This was an intermittent problem so we never knew when it would pop up. Each time we called in an authorized service provider, they would replace the control panel on the front of the oven which cost us $355.00. The oven would work fine for awhile and then start messing up again. When the same problem occurred within 2 months of the last replacement, we contacted Dacor directly. They informed us that the company that had charged us $355.00 only 2 months prior was now no longer an authorized repair vendor. They sent out yet another provider who told us our electrical panel was the problem. We contacted our electrician who said this was not the issue but he still upgraded to see it if would fix the problem. It did not, instead, it set a pizza box on fire that was put in the oven at 200 degrees but decided to switch to broil. Upon sending the pictures to Dacor Customer service, their response was that we didn't know how to use the oven properly and that is why things were burning. They offered to send one of their chefs to teach us how to use one of their ovens. So instead of taking any responsibility for their defective oven, they decide to blame the end-user for not knowing how to use their product. We decided to document for them in video to prove to them that there is a problem they refuse to acknowledge. We have spent over $1000.00 in trying to fix their product. I think we deserve an answer, not a chef to teach us how to use the oven.
