Device had to have a 10 second delay before the actual sorting started. After which the device was powered by wrapping fishing linewith one end attached to a hanging weight, and the other around a gear fastened to the bottom of the center spinning disk. Acceleration was combated by a counter weight system that picked up more and more weight as the string was pulled.
