In my planning for a Tricopter frame i wanted to build a frame that would be cheap to fix and support many different types of multirotors without the need to have multiple frames purchased.
This frame is the Tricopter 3.3 frame except for the last clip that is using the Tricopter 3.2 frame.
The V-tail tricopter, Quadcopter, and Y-4 videos are running the following parts:
CRIUS v2.5 multiwii board
SunnySky x2212 980kv
Simonk Flashed F30A Esc
10x4.5 props
The Tricopter 3.2 video (last clip) is running the following parts:
KK 2.0 FC with the 1.6 firmware
Ax2810q-750kv motors
Hitec 311 Servo
Simonk Flashed F30A Esc
I could have ran a Y-6 but I do not have 6 motors to try the Y-6 configuration. My favorite configuration so far has been the Tricopter because of the snappiness that it turns with and the V-tail.
The V-tail is set at a 30 degree angle and the motors can be ran on top with about a 7 inch boom length to hold the motors or a 4 inch boom length when running the motors upside down. In the video the plywood vtail holder is just temporary I recut it in g10 because I do not like to use wood for my main plates.
I still need to set up the Multiwii board for a tricopter so I can compare the flight controllers and see which one I like more over the other. I want to fly the V-Tail a bit more and get multiwii dialed in better.
I might do a video of field changes for the different types just for fun. Each configuration can be changed to in about 5 min or less per change and kk 2.0 board setting or flashing multi wii for a different copter type
