This video is about how I made a DIY Smart Window Air Conditioner by connecting my AC unit to an Ecobee3 WiFi Thermostat (HomeKit & Amazon Alexa compatible).
This IoT solution helped centralize my household's AC and essentially created an Ecobee air conditioner system.

The window A/C unit plugs into the GE Z-Wave Smart Outlet.
An IoT automation scene, through the VeraLite Smart Hub, switches the smart outlet on and off based on the Ecobee3 WiFi thermostat status (Cool vs. Idle).
The Ecobee3 WiFi Thermostat is compatible with IoT platforms like Apple's HomeKit and Amazon Echo, so I can use my voice with Siri or Amazon Alexa to set the WiFi Thermostat and trigger the Window AC home automation scene.
