Drone Flight 405. April 8th 2017, I had been hunting this ship for almost a week then on the sixth day she finally left port early in the morning. I was awake at 06.00, began driving at 07.00 and made my way to the coast and made it just in time to catch her. This is the massive Federal Tiber bulk carrier leaving Lough Foyle on her way to Finland. Ship details...
Name: Federal Tiber
IMO: 9644483
Flag: Marshall Islands
Gross Tonnage: 31590
Size: 190m x 32.26m
Built: 2013.
Perfect morning, the sky was completely clear with not a cloud in sight, blue skies, the sun had just rose casting a nice glitter path on the lough and illuminating the Federal into an intense warm colour. The beach had just a light breeze however over the lough the wind was a 7knot SWly which was onshore from here. The flight went perfectly however the gimbal began shaking a lot again when I was flying backwards or sideways at full throttle, I had to edit these shakes from the final footage. This shaking has been happening on every flight now so I suspect a loose screw to be the culprit. Fantastic flight, I was the only person at the coast, great visibility, drone within visual line of sight, max height 120m, min height 5m. I had no breakfast, just enough time to wash my face and make the one hour drive to the coast, the rush was worth it to meet this mighty ship on such a beautiful morning, thanks for watching. * This ship chase is dedicated to David Scott who recently passed away. David was a friend of mine who has a fascination with ships and who enjoyed watching my videos. www.nightskyhunter.com
