First day flying the Phantom and I managed to get her lost. Luckily she came back to me all by herself.
Flying in GPS Mode and like the RC noob that I am, I lost control after turning the wrong way and then flying even further away from myself. After I couldn't control (nor see) the Phantom anymore I switched off the controller and crossed my fingers. Took about 4 mins for the quad to return. Looking on Google Maps, I reckon I lost contact after about 300m distance + however high she was (quite a bit). So not too bad with only the stock controller.
I reckon Phantom would do the same in Attitude Mode. Earlier in the day I had tried switching off controller when flying in that mode and the quad also came back to home.
Apologies for terrible video quality. Was shot at night and with a GoPro v1. Was also shot in 50fps 720p, but I ended up exporting in 25fps to show the flight in real time. Footage is also not stabilised in any way.
