Time for another tech video! So it's 2019 and at this point I've been without a drone for nearly a full year - I sold my DJI Phantom 4 Pro+ when the first rumors of the Mavic 2 Pro came out, but that ended up getting delayed several months. When it was released it lacked two things I'd gotten used to with my P4 Pro+ and the Inspire 1 : 4k60 recording and a built in screen, so that I wouldn't need a third device to use my drone.
I decided to wait it out until something better came along and am glad I did! The smart controller solves one of the reservations I had about the Mavic 2 Pro, and since I got them as I combo it doesn't hurt as much as buying the remote as a standalone device. But what's the verdict? Is the new controller everything its hyped up to be? Was buying this combo worth it? Stay tuned to find out my thoughts and impressions as I unbox and test arguably the best prosumer drone - the Mavic 2 Pro and its newly released counterpart - the DJI Smart Controller.
Of course the testing will be conducted in heavy snow and freezing cold conditions somewhere in the Moscow Region. Also, the Smart Controller will be connected to a 50 inch TV in the trunk of my car. It just doesn't feel right to benchmark consumer gadgets any other way on a Normal Day in Russia.
(p.s. I got a range of 2km without LOS in a heavily wooded area with HD transmission intact - I'm thoroughly impressed with OcuSync 2.0!)
