The basin of the Droitwich Spa Marina off the Junction Canal being filled for the first time in December 2011. A shallow channel was dug from the canal to the stop planks at the marina entrance. The water was allowed to weir over these to fill the basin. The water is coming from Tardebigge Reservoir and BW staff are controlling the flow down the Tardebigge, Astwood and Hanbury locks so that the canal pound is kept full enough to feed into the basin, without being so full that water flows over the bywash weir at Lock 4.
