So a few months back my brother in law got his drone stuck in one of my palm trees. He was flying a model airplane around it it landed in the tree first. So he got his home built drone out with an fpv camera to try and locate the plane. Just then a gust of wind picked up and tossed the drone in the very same tree. He tried for several days to get them out of the tree. Eventually the wind blew the plane out but no such luck fro the drone. He tried an extension ladder and a long piece of pvc but the tree was just too tall. He also tied a heavy weight to the end of a fishing pole hoping to tangle it around the drone like a grappling hook but again, no luck. So his last attempt was with a heavy cable and heavy rope acting like a canitlever to really get that tree swaying. This went on for hours and just when he thought that he had the wrong tree, the drone came flying out. With only minor damage and having gone through a couple rain storms while being stuck, everything appeared just fine. Then we tied up a crate with a blanket and pillow for cushion and let Jack bounce around like a pinata for a bit. All in all it was a successful day. Thanks for watching!
